We all logged on to join the game made by Jason and introduced ourselves with cordial remarks and the utmost respect, we acknowledged that were were the privilaged few that were beta testing STF and we fully showed it with respectful manners and intelligent pre-game conversation.

Yes, behaved and well groomed we began our game.

...
...
...

We would have except Jason was lagging us up so bad we waited at the start screen for 7 minutes!

Finally, after quite a bit of cursing we got in game and the 5 man STF FFA began!

As far as I know everything went pretty normal, most players built up their engineers to around 10 and then built a scout to gauge the territory around them, there was some harrassment here and there but no major scuffles.

During this buildup team I eloquently expressed some of my concerns in regards of the pricing on a certain structure.

Shortly therafter SuperEric paused for about 4987298728 minutes, during which Jason began to discuss the philosophical repurcussions of those events currently surrounding Arcan.

Yes, we were all a tad worried about this odd, odd fellow.

Luckily he threw a hissy fit because the lag was so horrible and promptly left, amazingly the lag COMPLETELY dissapated as soon as he left, and thus through the testimony of FOUR other testers, he now resides over the OFFICIAL STF TITLE of SIR LAGS ALOT for he was the reason the game was lagging so bad! IT WAS HIM!

Alright, back to the game.

Keep in mind that this is from my point of few only, for some strange reason everyone refused to share vision with me ^_^. I teched to the pyrotechnic addon for once and immediately erected three turrets around my hub, I researched Napalm grenade and began to pump out a Pyro. I had learned that Napalm is quite a power to behold early in the battle field.

Arcan that teal looking bastard sent a total of four attacks during the game.

The first attack came shortly after my first pyro was built, he sent 2-3 pyro's straight to my mineral line, targetting a vital part of my base, my economy, it's a tried and true strategy that is used by the wisest of players...

...well it would be if he didn't walk them right through my turrets/scout/pyro which promptly chewed his pyro's up. Here's a tip kids, stay away from Sentry with infantry support.

Tell that to Arcan. ^_^

The second attack came a bit later with about 4-5 demomen and a few pyro's for support, with fewer numbers and early warning from a border barrier I was able to repell the much large force. (repell as into oblitirate them into 9879869826986 pieces)

Early napalm softened him up and with a 2-3 men defense force which consisted of Pyro's and Demomen and their sentry gun backup the attack was quickly stopped.

About this time I expanded north of me to a cliff right under Cmpgjunkies main. His next attack was much greater and consisted of even more demomen, pyro's with napalm and scouts with EMP, he EMPed what he could and napalmed the rest, my forces were too spread out for napalm to have much effect but his forces were clustered JUST right for my napalm ;), because of the early warning of the attack through barrier scouts, I was able to rally my main force in time and destroy his force AGAIN with turret/demomen/napalm support.

Now things started to go downhill, CampaignJunkie had finished off SuperEric and thus moved his forces to focus on me, he dropped my expansion south of him with soldier/HW guy combo, altough there were three sentry guns they were no match and quickly fell, scattered napalm helped a bit and delayed them long enough for the bulk of my forces to arrive... they were repelled back into their ospreys... but UNFORTUNATELY I ACCIDENTLY loaded my men into a -1398287 HP osprey...... and with one quick shot from two of his it was destoryed killing the bulk of my forces.

Yeah... he had some fun with that. DAMN OSPREYS! AGH.

With that he brought his forces back and quickly destoryed my expansion. If that weren't enough Teal (Arcan) came romping from the south with a large amount of demomen and pyro's, and altough napalm from a newly built pyro helped even that was not enough to stop the rampage, I managed to kill most of his Demomen but at the cost of my base. When the smoke cleared all that remained were two of his pyro men, the great Messiah Main had fallen. Damn.

But I had an ace up my sleeve! I had expanded to an island south of my base and now, seeing it was my last base I slightly increased it's defenses...

Yeah, let's see them get through that!

Anyways, after a few minutes of silence we all realized that Hercanic had been awfully quiet... too quiet. Indeed he had been lacing 60% of the map with Sentry guns and had expanded like a madman. He was in firm control of the game. There was only one thing we could do in a situation like this, an honorable, couragoues, skillfull solution that would require infinite precision and strategic planning.

We had no choice, for Hercanic had built 472737237 turrets! We HAD to band together! We had to turn this FFA into a 3v1! To join forces and tumble the greater evil which is HERCANIC!

I expressed my continued dislike toward Hercanic. ^_^

We then started to wage our campaign against Hercanic! CampaignJunkie Ospreyed his forces to an expansion which Hercanic was begining to bring online, and although he suffered heavily casualties he was able to bring down the expansion, shortly after Arcan attacked with his forces from the south consisting of lotsa snipers and pyro's. They managed to plow deep into the heart of Hercanic's territory before being repelled by Hercanic's masses of Soldiers. I then got back onto my feet, expanded and teched Espionage, I then ospreyed an elite squad of snipers throughout the periphery of Hercanic's base taking down sentry guns and barriers, then loading them up if any resistance was found and continuing on another location. Hit and run, gotta love it.

During this time CampaignJunkie an Arcan began rebuilding their forces and through continued pressure from Junkie's Soldiers/HW/Spies the northern border was pushed back to meet with Arcan's forces that were digging their way from the south, outlined with sniper cover fire by yours truly.

We pushed on and altough Hercanic attempted to launch an offensive against Arcan it was promptly pushed back, then with regained control of the map the three of us slowly pushed into enemy held territory, his border and main were completely in shambles as we pushed to his final base, an island expansion with an assault addon, from the mainland we snipered his forces for the snipers could shoot anyone on the island and then some. Arcan and I became sniper whore's at that point.

We closed in but eventually declared a truce with the evil one and allied victory all around. The evil Hercanic had been destroyed and his bases lay in shambles. The FFA was over, the main power had been toppled and an uneasy peace settled throughout the land....

For now.
